Shortest day

The shortest day is rapidly approaching.

But what really is the shortest day? The headline shortest day is of course about December 20th or 21st. But it’s asymmetric, and subjectively the time of dusk has more effect than the time of dawn. And the daylight hours are also asymmetric: the earliest dusk comes several days before the latest dawn.

A week from now, we can get back onto the slow return to summer:-)
