Well, my column at El Reg is now up. And this one is stirring it a bit: my editor joked “wonder what it feels like to be sued by a Linux distro”! It’s a bit of a rant about the support vacuum created by distros that repackage Apache in a manner that makes Apache’s own documentation hard to apply and leaves Apache support people talking at cross-purposes with the end-users.
Recommended reading for:
- People who package complex software such as Apache for end-users. This could be an insight to help you improve your work.
- People at the sharp end of support, who would like to see a good rant about things that make their lives gratuitously difficult!
- People who have tried to get support and found themselves hopelessly confused.
